Good to know before you start

Web search is the AI web search inside AI Chat Pro. When it is on, the AI searches the internet for your question first and then gives a reply based on what it found. That matters for anything that changes over time, from prices and opening hours to news and new regulations.

How AI web search works

Click the plus button next to the message field and choose Web Search. Ask a question as usual. The search runs on dedicated search services in the background, listed in the model menu as Serper Web Search for live results and Perplexity Search for live web answers with sources. The model you picked then writes a short answer.

When to use it

Check the current price of a competitor’s product, find the latest version of a regulation, see what happened in your industry this week, look up the opening hours of a supplier or find recent reviews of a tool you want to buy.

Web search or Deep Research

Web search is fast and fits a single question with a single answer. When you need a structured report from many sources, use Deep Research, which plans several searches and writes a document with citations.

Who uses it

Shop owners who keep a close eye on competitor prices. Marketers who need current statistics for a post. Travel and event planners checking dates and venues. Anyone writing about a topic that moves fast, where a model’s training data alone would give an outdated picture.

Accuracy and trust

Live results make answers more current, but a website can still be wrong. A good habit is to look for two independent sources for every important number, and to prefer official pages, such as a government site or the manufacturer, over blogs.

Tips for AI web search

Add a place and a time to your question, such as „in Germany“ or „in 2026“. Ask for a source for every number. Open the source before you use a figure in an offer or a post. Turn web search off for a creative task, where live results only add noise.
