Explaining the same task again and again

Every time you ask for a product description, you paste the same rules about tone, length and format.

I paste my brand rules into every chat.

Results change every time I ask.

My colleagues prompt differently and get different results.

In depth

Good to know before you start

Skills are the custom AI skills of AI Chat Pro. A skill is a set of instructions that extends what the AI can do, for example how to write a product description for your shop, how to answer a complaint or how to check a contract. Once a skill exists, you add it to a chat and the AI follows the process.

Creating custom AI skills

Open Skills from the plus menu. Add Skill starts the Skill Creator, a built-in skill that guides you and writes a new one with structured formatting. You can also call it with the command /skill-creator. Upload Skill takes a .skill or .zip file that contains a SKILL.md, or a single .md file.

Managing skills

The Skills window has tabs for all, public and personal skills, plus a search. Each skill shows a short description and whether it is added to your account. An auto-use switch lets the AI pick a skill on its own when your request matches it.

Ideas for skills

Start with a brand voice skill that holds your tone, banned words and examples. Next, write one for product descriptions with the structure your shop uses. Customer replies work well as a skill that follows your refund policy. For reporting, a weekly skill can turn raw numbers into a summary for your boss, and your writers get a blog brief skill.

Who benefits most

Teams where several people write the same kind of text. Agencies that keep a separate style for each client. Shop owners who add new products every week. Anyone who has a prompt document they copy from again and again, because that document is a skill waiting to be saved.

Limits to know

Skills do not work in Council Mode, so turn it off when you want to use one. Skills may not be part of every plan.

Tips for custom AI skills that work

Write one skill per job, not one for everything. Include a good example of the result inside the skill. Test it on three real tasks and fix the instructions where the output drifts. For longer documents written with a skill, open the result in Canvas.
