Good to know before you start

Deep Research is the AI deep research tool in AI Chat Pro. You ask a question, and instead of one quick answer, it plans a multi-step investigation: it searches the web, reads the sources, follows up on what it finds and writes a detailed report with citations.

How AI deep research works

Click the plus button next to the message field and choose Deep Research. Deep Research runs on Gemini Deep Research, its own research engine, so it does not use the model you picked for normal chat. When the report is ready, it opens in Canvas, where you can read it next to the chat, edit it and keep the citations.

What to research

Competitors and their pricing, a new market before you launch, supplier options, trends in your industry, rules that apply to your product, or the best tools for a job. Anything that needs many sources and a structured summary is a good fit.

Limits to know

Deep Research and Council Mode do not run at the same time; turning on one switches the other off. Research takes longer than a normal answer, and you can cancel it. Sources on the web can be wrong or outdated, so the report is a starting point for your decision, not the decision itself.

Tips for AI deep research

Say why you need the research and who will read it, for example „for a pitch to investors“. Limit the scope: a country, a time period or a price range. Ask for a table when you compare options. Open the most important sources yourself before you quote a number. For quick facts, web search is faster.
